How to clean and store your nail brushes
The work tool is the foundation of many professions. Undoubtedly, for nail stylists, those tools are mainly brushes. It does not matter if it is a brush for gel, acrylic or nail art, because each of them is the most important for a stylist and we must ensure that they will serve for years. Once, I even heard the statement "show me your brush and I will tell you what stylist are you." Certainly, more than one person has happened to put the brush down incorrectly, which, for example, caused it to fall down with a bristle or, worse, put it near the lamp, which caused the product to be cured on the brush. Fortunately, the damages can now be repaired all that is needed for this is water, more specifically boiling water.
How to clean brushes after work with gel lacquers
Here's what you need to do:
1. Clean the brush of all dirt. If the product is not cureed, it is enough to wipe the brush with a cotton swab soaked in a hybrid base, e.g. Flexi base. If, on the other hand, we have remnants of the product, we need to clean the brush and a toothpick will be useful here.
2. Dip the bristles in boiling water. REMEMBER not to wet all the tip, as the boiling water can dissolve the glue inside.
3. After a few minutes, wipe the brush on a dry cotton swab and voila!
If you want to do more, you can, and even should, wipe it again with a cotton swab with a bit of a hybrid base and then close it and hide it. But let's agree who has time for it after each manicure?
Therefore, the basis is to wipe the brush from the product on it to avoid the situations I mentioned at the beginning. And at the end of the working day, we can apply night care to the brush in the form of a cotton swab with a base.
How to store nail brushes
Taking care of the bristles of the brush is our responsibility. It mainly depends on how long it will serve us. Therefore, another important aspect is their storage. Personally, I recommend and use a pencil case that has special compartments, thanks to which our brushes are protected even if they do not have plugs. I used to throw brushes anywhere, but the constant need of buying new brushes has taught me to appreciate the pencil case.
The pencil case will provide us with safe storage of brushes, but it is also very handy and convenient if we go to training sessions, for which we take brushes with us. We can hide our work tools and do not worry about their condition.
Brushes with plugs are definitely a brilliant choice - the plug will ensure hygiene of the bristles, the best protection against damage, and even accidental curing of the product. The boiling water method is the last resort that will save us and our brushes. However, it is thanks to the daily care and proper storage that we can be sure that they will serve us for a long time. Remember that!
