Pedicure tools
Perfectly manicured toenails are a must have, especially now when the summer weather encourages us to sunbathe and put on open shoes. If you want to introduce this type of service in your salon and you are wondering how to complete your pedicure starter kit, we are here to help.
Tools for hybrid pedicure
In order to perform a pedicure, we will need the right tools:
1. Nail clippers or scissors
2. File and buffer
3. Wooden stick
4. Cuticle nippers
5. A probe
6. Pedicure file or a rubber carrier with an abrasive cap (if we use a drilling machine).
Before starting the procedure, make sure that all tools are clean and sterile and that the file, buffer and stick are disposable.
How to use the tools
Below I will try to introduce you all the above-mentioned tools.
- Nail clippers and scissors will be used to shorten the nails. It should be done very carefully because the toenails are quite brittle and we don't want to break them. Clippers will be great for thick nails,. Scissors, on the other hand, should work well with thinner nails. It is worth remembering that the toenails should be cut straight to prevent their ingrowth.
- A file and a buffer are necessary for smoothing out unevenness on the nail plate and for shaping it. We can choose various types of files: glass, metal, paper and gradations. You can also buy a file block, with which we will even out unevenness and matt the nails.
- Wooden stick – will be used to remove the cuticles (using a cuticle softener).
- Cuticle nippers – must be sharp! With their help, we can work around nail shafts. If you are not experienced, it will be better to skip this step and remove the cuticles with a wooden stick.
- A probe - will be useful to check whether our nails are ingrown. This tool is so profiled that we will be able to verify it without any problems and possibly get the nails out of the place where they grow.
- Pedicure file or a rubber carrier with an abrasive cap - will be needed to remove keratinized epidermis and smooth the feet. Files and caps are available in various grits and sizes. It is worth noting that we need a drilling machine and a bit of experience to work with it, I guess everyone can handle the grater without major problems.
